MLSsoccer.com posted their latest MLS Power Rankings and they have Sporting Kansas City currently ranked the third best team in Major League Soccer.

MLSsoccer had this to say about Sporting KC;

Even before the Thierry Henry red card, Sporting were clearly the better team this past weekend. They were moving the ball well in attack, pushing NYRB down the middle and generating chances. They still finish an achingly low percentage of those chances, however- and they need to focus on that or it could be a short postseason.

Hard to disagree with MLSsoccer's assessment here. Finishing opportunities has been a big concern this season for Sporting KC, a problem highlighted with a couple of great chances Teal Bunbury had in the New York match that he was unable to finish, and two heading chances by Aurelien Collin that he couldn't put into the back of the net.

Only the LA Galaxy, and the Seattle Sounders rank higher, which just goes to show you just how far Sporting Kansas City have come since the early summer.

MLSsoccer has the Houston Dynamo rated the fourth best team, with the Philadelphia Union rounding out the top 5.

 I found it interesting that for as much as everyone complained about how uneven the two conferences are, the East have pretty much evened things out towards the end of the year.

For the most part, I agree with the poll, but I'm not so sure that I'd rank Houston over Philly at this point.

What do you think?
