About a week ago I wrote a post reaching out to readers who would be interested in writing about Sporting Kansas City, and becoming a part of The Daily Wiz team.
To be honest with you, I wasn't expecting much of a response. Many of the great Sporting KC bloggers out there already have established their own informative and entertaining websites about the home town team.
So you can imagine how surprised I was to receive a number of emails expressing interest in joining The Daily Wiz. Even more surprising- surprising in a very good way- was that almost every emailer included their ideas and vision of what The Daily Wiz can become down the road.
I was very impressed with a number of the those that wrote me last week, and after some lengthy discussions about the direction of the blog, and expanding The Daily Wiz brand, I'm happy to announce the addition of three new staff members;
- Joseph Landis (lobes on SB Nation)- Joseph showed me some of his previous work that he's done (great, knowledgeable stuff), and expressed his interest in not only Sporting Kansas City, but the USMNT as well. Joseph will be covering the USMNT for The Daily Wiz, as well as writing his thoughts on Sporting KC. I thought it was a very cool idea to expand out a bit in regards to the blog; to not only cover Sporting KC, but to cover other aspects of soccer that matter to us. In this case, the U.S. Men's National Team.
- Jason Buck (jasonbuck on SB Nation)- I'm extremely excited to add Jason to The Daily Wiz staff. Jason will be the blog's official photographer for Sporting KC games. Adding a photographer was something that I had been thinking about for a while now, and when Jason e-mailed me and I was able to see his work, I was ecstatic. Having a Daily Wiz photographer will allow us to give you some unique shots from the matches. The even cooler news? Jason's first game shooting for The Daily Wiz will be the home playoff match! - Ben Gartland- Ben will be writing on a variety of topics regarding Sporting KC, and I'm beyond happy to have him on The Daily Wiz staff. He's already shared with me a few of his ideas regarding opinion pieces, and i have to say, they sound like they are going to be great.
