In the second leg of the Eastern Conference Semifinal against the Philadelphia Union, Ching struck the lone goal to give Houston the win and seal their passage to the Conference Championship for the fourth time in six years. In the final reckoning, the Dynamo beat the Union, 3-1 on aggregate, and now move on to face Sporting Kansas City on Sunday in Kansas.

US men's national team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann called upon MLS players to continue training after their season ended. At least one of them is answering the call. FC Dallas announced on Thursday that midfielder Brek Shea would remain in Europe following the national team's friendlies next week against France and Slovenia to train with English Premier League club Arsenal, citing a "strong relationship" between the two clubs.

I guess what I'm saying is, while I like the tactical mindset changes I'm seeing from Klinsi, some off the things he's doing from a personnel standpoint are baffling. Maybe I don't have to get it yet - maybe this is to ensure Morales doesn't go play for Peru (not that I'd approve of that reasoning for the call). Either which way, in my view, we again will bring a lopsided squad when there's no reason to do so.
On that subject Klinsman stated: "We have a very positive line of communication with MLS. We agreed that whoever will be involved in the final will be released after the game against France, which gives them more than a week to prepare." For my money though, I dont see why Klinsmann needs to call that player at all. There are certainly plenty of players available who are deserving of a look prior to World Cup Qualifying. Why risk injury to a player who will be crucial to his teams' success in the final? Klinsmann cannot be making either Bruce Arena or Jason Kreis all that happy with this decision.
