Teal Bunbury, Sporting Kansas City's leading goal scorer in the 2011 MLS Playoffs, has been invited to the USMNT Under 23 camp that will be held from December 15th to the 23rd.
Bunbury was invited by U-23 coach Caleb Porter to camp in Germany last month as well, but Bunbury withdrew from the roster.
Teal has been recieving call ups to Jurgen Klinsmann's USMNT senior squad as well, but to this point Bunbury hasn't seen the field for Klinsmann's team, so it's good to see he's part of Porter's plans.
"At every camp we expect to push the group forward by continuing to evaluate the player pool while imprinting the concepts of how we will play as a team on both sides of the ball," said Porter. "As we sort through our personnel and start to hone in on the roster, it is equally important that the players develop a clear understanding of how we will do things leading up to our first match in Nashville."
Looking at the other six forwards that were invited to this particular camp, Bunbury by would appear to be the most talented, and with the most upside.
The last that I heard, Bunbury was also set to train with English Premier League side, Bolton this off season as well.
The U-23 team will play their first set of matches in the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament from March 22-26 at LP Field in Nashville, TN.
