Open Game Thread: Seattle Sounders Vs. Sporting KC - MLS Week 10

Seattle Sounders vs. Sporting Kansas City
MLS Week 10 - May 21, 2011

9:00 pm CT, 7:00 PT
Qwest Field - Seattle, WA

TV: KSMO-TV (HD), MLS DirectKick
Last Two Meetings: SEA 1-0 KC, KC 1-2 SEA

When Sporting KC kicked off the 2011 MLS season, no one envisioned them in this position - dead last in the entire league standings with only have as many points as the team directly ahead of them. After all, they were the trendy darkhorse pick to make a long run in the MLS Cup playoffs. Oh, the hindsight.

Fast forward two months, and that bottom-feeding spot is exactly where they find themselves. The good news: Everyone else has written them off. The bad news: It's only going to get tougher this evening when Sporting take on Seattle at the sight of the largest homefield advantage in the league. More bad news: the previously-injured Seattle stars are healthy and look to be available again tonight.

Pregame Coverage

The big KC Cauldron watch party is at Mike's Tavern - 5424 Troost Kansas City, MO. There should be a couple hundred rabid Sporting KC fans there tearing it up for this huge mathcup for Sporting. But, for those of you watching from the comforts of home tonight, come inside and join Andy Edwards of The Daily Wiz, and (hopefully) a few of its readers for what's known around these parts as an Open Game Thread. We'll be discussing tonight's action live, as it happens on the field.

All you need to do is sign up for an SB Nation account, which can be done here. That account and screenname are good for all 300 of the network's sites, many of which are team-specific. Meaning, you're a fan of the Kansas Jayhawks, Missouri Tigers, etc.? There's sites for each one of those teams, including all NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL teams if that's your thing, plus about 100 college team sites. Once you've done that, simply agree to join the membership here at TDW, and you're in!

Also, take this chance to follow The Daily Wiz on Twitter, and "Like" us on Facebook, too. That way you can keep up with all news, information and analysis that is SKC.
