Earlier today Sporting Kansas City selected four collegiate soccer players in the Supplemental Draft. Sporting Kc honed in on defenders in this draft by selecting one Left Back, one Center Back, and another Full Back. Using picks 16,32,43 and 48 Sporting Kc selected the following players:
- # 16, Shawn Singh - UCLA - Defender
- # 32 Pablo Punyed - St. John's - Midfielder
- # 43 Stefan Antonijevic - Valparaisio - Defender
- # 48 Kyle Miller - Rockhurst - Defender
While I think these guys all have good potential I don't really see more than one or two players from the list above joining Sporting Kansas City. In the video below Peter Vermes gives a little bit more information on his picks. And here you can get even more information on all four of PV's picks from Sporting Kc's official website. There were 2 main things that stood out to me when I did a quick scan of our picks. The first thing was the size of Antonijevic, he stands at an impressive 6'6. If signed he would be the tallest player I can think of that has put on an MLS shirt. The second thing was the fact that Kyle Miller used to play in Sporting Kc's youth acadamy and went to Rockhurst college which is located in Kansas City. So it will be good to see yet another youth product at Sporting Kc's training camp.
