Sporting Kansas City center back and Trinidad & Tobago international Daneil Cyrus started and played in the Soca Warriors 3-1 win over Guyana this evening at Dwight Yorke Stadium on what appeared to be a rainy night in the East Carribean nation. Daneil played fairly well and will look to play with Tobago again in the Olympic Qualifying tournament this spring.
Cyrus has not appeared at Sporting KC's training camp once throughout the entire pre-season and I was told he was given personal time off from the club. To me, if he can play football he should be up here in the States with Sporting KC helping us get ready for the 2012 campaign. But then again, I am not fully aware of the situation and there is most likely something going on behind closed doors at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park pertaining to Daneil Cyrus's future at the football club. It has looked in doubt recently as news may have accidentally slipped on Sporting KC draft pick Dom Dwyer's twitter account that center back Cyprian Hedrick was Sporting's newest signing(the tweet has since been removed).
