Today it was announced that Sporting Kansas City had cut ties with Trinidad and Tobago international Daneil Cyrus. The T&T U23 member only made 5 appearances with the club, largely due to an injury picked up in the summer. Cyrus will most likely return to the club he was originally being loaned from,1st FC Santa Rosa. The news of Cyrus' departure was not really surprising seeing as the young center back had yet to show up to Sporting KC's pre-season.

This is just one of three moves Sporting KC have recently made in the past two days, the signing of Cyprian Hedrick, and the re-signing of Graham Zusi being the other two. Another move that could happen within the next couple of days is the release of Birahim Diop, the Senegalese central midfielder has also yet to make an appearance at Sporting KC's preseason.

With Cyrus' departure one would think that Supplemental Draft pick Stefan Antonijevic's chances of being signed as the club's 5th string center back would increase. The 6'8 defender had previously played for the Serbian U19 team.
