Sporting KC Extends Preseason Matches

Sporting Kansas City announced today that two more exhibition matches had been added to an already lengthy list of preseason games. The first of those exhibitions will be held tomorrow against the U-17 US Men's National Team at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. I expect that a lot of guys who will get minutes during that game tomorrow will be trialists or lower-level second team players(i.e. Aiyegbusi, Singh, Antonijevic, Hot, Miller, Gyorio).

The match tomorrow could be some of the trialists' last chance at earning a contract for Sporting KC. And I tend to believe that if we do sign someone it will most likely be a center back like Antonijevic or Hot. The latter one of course being the most MLS experienced.

The second exhibition match is a March 13th fixture against Rockhurst University, I would not expect that the team that Sporting KC fields for this match will be much like the one we will see against the USMNT U-17 team due to the fact that most of those guys will have been cut by this point. This will also be the first home game at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park in the 2012 season.
