Sporting Kansas City has officially signed 2012 Supplemental Draft Pick and former Sporting Kansas City Junior Kyle Miller.

The 23 year old defender was a native of Overland Park, Kansas. He attended Saint Thomas Aquinas High School, winning multiple state championships while there, and attended Rockhurst University in Kansas City.

He appeared in 80 matches for Rockhurst, where he made All-Conference, All-Midwest and All-America in his senior season. His defense helped Rockhurst allow only 7 goals the entire season in 2011, the fewest in the nation.

He had previous experience with head coach Peter Vermes as a former member of the Sporting Kansas City Juniors Academy.

Miller has appeared in three reserve matches this year for Sporting. He also got some minutes in pre-season matches where he debuted against Tuscon FC, and scored a goal against the U.S Under-17 national team.

Miller is the second Aquinas graduate to be signed by Sporting, joining midfielder Michael Thomas, who was signed earlier in the pre-season.

Miller is also the fourth draft pick from the 2012 class to be signed by Sporting, joining Dom Dwyer, Cyprian Hedrick and Shawn Singh.
