So this morning I finally got around to checking the standings. I was extremely surprised to see both San Jose and Real Salt Lake ahead of Sporting in the league standings. Both teams have 22 points(albeit from more games), just one ahead of SKC's 21 while the Sounders are at 19 with a game in hand on Sporting KC. While this may not be exactly ground breaking news to most of you guys it is to me. I was deeply convinced that Sporting KC had basically amassed an insurmountable lead from their record breaking 7 wins from 7 games to start the season. I was convinced that no team could catch up to us. It went highly unpublicized that SKC had in fact dropped in the standings after their loss to Montreal 2-0 and it sends me a reminder that we won't be able to ride on our fantastic early season form all the way to November.
