A little bit of good news, at least for Sporting Kansas City, in regards to their match this weekend against the New York Red Bulls.
Kristian Dyer, who covers the New York Red Bulls, tweeted the following about an hour ago:
Thierry Henry will miss the SKC game due to the birth of his son.
Even without Henry, the Red Bulls still have a plethora of dangerous options. Kenny Cooper, Sebastien Le Toux, Tim Cahill, and Joel Lindpere can all put the ball in the back of the net, so New York won't be lacking in offensive fire power come Sunday night.
Still, Henry is having a very good year with the Red Bulls (11 goals, 7 assists), and he is the team's catalyst on the offensive side of the ball.
Personally, I'm bummed out. I was hoping Sunday would be my chance to see a soccer legend play in person.
Eh...Maybe next year.
