Injury Report: Sporting KC to Miss Three Starters Ahead of New England Revolution Game

Getty Images

In today's injury report three very important Sporting Kansas City players were highlighted as being out with an injury. They include: Jacob Peterson (R shoulder sprain); C.J. Sapong (R hip flexor strain); and Chance Myers (groin strain) not to mention Cyprian Hedrick and Jon Kempin who have been out for a majority of the season due to their injuries. All players will miss the New England clash tomorrow night and possibly the US Open Cup game against the Seattle Sounders on the 8th of August.

So while this is certainly big news when taking into account the Seattle game I don't think it will really affect Saturday's game against the New England Revolution as Sporting KC are expected to field a rather reserve heavy lineup ahead of their cup final against the Sounders.

Here's the whole Sporting KC injury report, copied directly from here:

OUT: DF Cyprian Hedrick (L fibula fracture); GK Jon Kempin (R ankle fracture); DF Chance Myers (groin strain); FW Jacob Peterson (R shoulder sprain); FW C.J. Sapong (R hip flexor strain); PROBABLE: DF Aurelien Collin (facial fracture)
