Following last night's draw with Olimpia, Sporting Kansas City solidified themselves in the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals. They finished with eight points in the group, which meant that they would probably get a lower seed in the knockout round.
With all of the results from last night and Tuesday, Sporting will either be the sixth or seventh seed and they have a wide variety of opponents they could meet in the quarterfinals. Tonight is the final night of the group stage with two matches happening across the league. Here's how it could all shake out tonight for Sporting KC and the rest of the CONCACAF Champions League.
Scenario 1
If Houston Dynamo beats Arabe Unido and Los Angeles Galaxy beats Isidro Metapan, Sporting would be the 7th seed and would face Cruz Azul.
Scenario 2
If Houston Dynamo draws Arabe Unido and Los Angeles Galaxy beats Isidro Metapan, Sporting would be the 6th seed and would meet the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Scenario 3
If Houston Dynamo beats Arabe Unido and Los Angeles Galaxy draws Isidro Metapan, Sporting would be the 7th seed and would meet Cruz Azul.
Scenario 4
If Houston Dynamo draws Arabe Unido and Los Angeles Galaxy draws Isidro Metapan, Sporting would be the 6th seed and would meet Tijuana.
Scenario 5
If Houston Dynamo loses to Arabe Unido and Los Angeles Galaxy beats Isidro Metapan, Sporting would be the 7th seed and would meet Cruz Azul.
Scenario 6
If Houston Dynamo loses to Arabe Unido and Los Angles Galaxy loses to Isidro Metapan, Sporting would be the 7th seed and would meet Cruz Azul.

So there you have it, nine possible scenarios for Sporting tonight. The most likely possibility, coming out of six of the nine scenarios is meeting Cruz Azul as the seventh seed. My preference is scenario two, which is a very real possibility. I'd rather play the Galaxy in the quarterfinals and play Cruz Azul in the semifinals should Sporting make it that far.
It's safe to say that the two draws at home seriously hampered Sporting's chances at a good seed. They had the opportunity to get a higher seed and to play a team like Alajuelense or San Jose in the quarterfinals. Regardless, Sporting is in the quarterfinals and anything can happen from here.
