Apologies for the lateness of today's Blue Links.

Here's what Sporting Kansas City can do to clinch a playoff spot on Wednesday. They'll need to win out essentially to win the Supporters Shield, but playoffs should be clinched by Wednesday if they play well.

Sporting KC jumped three spots in the MLS Power Rankings this weekend after their 1-0 win in Columbus. Suddenly they're at number 2 and right back in the Supporters Shield talk.

Orlando City got the unanimous votes from the city council to approve funding for a new stadium in Orlando. The next vote they need is the county vote.

There's a lot of activities for Sporting KC fans this weekend in Kansas City. The Kansas City Star lists them all.

Brad Friedel has reportedly interviewed for the manager position in Columbus. Brian Bliss has done a decent job in the interim but this would be a fantastic hire for the Crew if it goes through.

The US is closest it has been to a World Cup seed but the odds on them actually attaining a seed are against them.

Speaking of the USMNT, Omar Gonzales is injured and will not play in the qualifiers. He has been replaced by Michael Orozco, who was added today.

If Ryan Succop ever gets injured for the Chiefs, they can always call Matt Besler. Here's a video of him hitting a 50 yard field goal.
