For months Sporting Kansas City fans have waited with baited breath to hear about Kei Kamara.
Some have already accepted the idea that Norwich City will sign him permanently. Other fans, however, still have hope that he will return to Kansas City this summer and return to his spot on the wing.
Well, the wait is almost over. Kei Kamara's loan to Norwich will expire on Monday. By then, we should have an idea about whether we will be seeing him back or not.
There's evidence supporting both sides. First, the Norwich faithful love Kamara. He's been a great addition to the club, appearing in promotional photos on social media sites and has even earned the praise of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
However, Norwich City has already made a move for next season, signing Ricky Van Wolfswinkle, a striker from Sporting Lisbon. This could point to Norwich not needing Kamara next season given that they already signed a big striker. Also, according to this article here, Kamara is still being kept in the dark about whether his option will be made permanent or not. There is still indecision about whether to keep him or not from the Norwich staff.
The way I see it, the closer we get to the end date for the loan, the better it looks for a Kei Kamara return to Kansas City. Norwich is still being very indecisive about the entire situation and the fact that they already signed another striker in Van Wolfswinkle may point to a declining of Kamara's loan option.
However, there is always the possibility that Kamara could return to the Barclay's Premier League with a different team than Norwich. As mentioned earlier in the article, other big name managers are starting to take note of Kamara. Now, while it is nearly impossible for a huge name team to take on Kamara, there are other teams who are certain to have taken notice of Kamara. We may get news on Monday of Kamara's loan not being made permanent by Norwich, but another BPL team pouncing on the opportunity.
We will most likely learn a lot this weekend and on Monday morning. We could hear reports of Norwich making his option permanent or another BPL team scooping him up for next season.
Or he could be in the 18 for Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday.
