Yann Songo'o we hardly knew ye.
After being signed by Sporting Kansas City in the offseason, Yann Songo'o was listed as one of the four players that would be heading to Orlando City as part of the loan program between the two clubs.
Today it was released that Yann Songo'o and Sporting Kansas City would be parting ways after less than season together.
Songo'o was tied for the most minutes played with Orlando City and was a big part of their strong defense that lead the Lions to the US Open Cup quarterfinals and to the top of the USL-Pro table so far in 2013.
This opens up another international slot for Sporting KC, leaving them with five open international slots.
This release from Sporting Kansas City will also end his loan to Orlando City, meaning that Sporting KC will have to send two more players from their active roster to Orlando as part of the loan agreement. Dom Dwyer's recall from yesterday is the second loaned player that Orlando City has lost in as many days.
My guess is that it will be Soony Saad and Kevin Ellis sent to Orlando so that those two young players can get some more playing time against real opponents. Saad is a good striker to replace Dwyer and Ellis is the same in regards to Songo'o.
