The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) announced Monday that  FC Kansas City midfielder Lauren Holiday earned the NWSL Golden Boot, awarded to the player with the most goals in the 2013 regular season.

At the end of regular season play on Sunday, Holiday led the league in both goals (12) and assists (9) in just 18 games.

The Indianapolis native was the June Player of the Month as well as the NWSL Player of the Week for her two-goal performance against Portland Thorns FC in Week 17. Holiday had three two-goal games and also compiled a NWSL record 10-game streak with a goal or assist.
