Sporting KC forward CJ Sapong described his first trip down to Orlando City as a "humbling" one. His second? That's yet to be seen, as Sporting KC announced today that they have once again loaned Sapong to their USL PRO affiliate through the weekend.
The struggling striker was loaned to the Lions last month for a brief stent after spending a considerable amount of match time on the bench with only one goal for Sporting KC. According to the team, Sapong's loan this time around is being done so that he can reach the minimum five appearances that are required to be eligible for the USL PRO playoffs, which begin in late August and run through the first weekend of September. In other words, it looks as though Sapong will eventually be loaned a third time to Orlando City for their 2013 playoff run.
The Lions are scheduled for two matches this weekend; one against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and the other versus VSI Tampa Bay FC.
