While the deal with Jorge Claros fell through as the transfer window closed yesterday, Sporting KC was still able to add some depth with the additions of Jimmy Medranda and Brendan Ruiz.

Medranda is a Columbian midfielder from Deportivo Pereira, where he has been part of their youth program since he was twelve. Now, seven years later, Medranda is getting appearances with the senior team. He made 16 appearances in all competitions over the past two years and tallied up two goals for the team. He will be on loan for this transaction with no further details on whether there is an option to buy or not, or for how long. Medranda will take up an international slot on Sporting KC's roster

Ruiz is an American defender who has been playing with Brazilian first division side Figuerense on their U-20 squad for the past two years. He has plenty of experience in the American developmental system, playing for the De Anza Force from the US Developmental Academy. He started 30 games for the Force, helping them reach fourth place in the USSDA finals week in 2010.

Neither players's deals were disclosed, per team policy.
