Kamara called up to Sierra Leone national team, will miss match against Columbus

Kei Kamara will be missing from the match against the Columbus Crew to play in Sierra Leone's final World Cup Qualifying match. This makes Sporting's lineup choices slimmer.

Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

Add Kei Kamara to the list of people missing for this Saturday's match against the Columbus Crew.

The forward was called up for national team duty for his home country of Sierra Leone this week, meaning he will be one of five players not available for this week's match against the Crew. Sporting will be missing Graham Zusi, Matt Besler, Peterson Joseph and Mechack Jerome for this next match in addition to Kamara.

This call up is particularly for Sporting fans because Sierra Leone has already been eliminated from World Cup Qualification. This match is just the final one in the AFC group stage.

This rounds up all of the possible call ups for Sporting KC except for one in Soony Saad. Saad has the potential to be called up to the Lebanese national teams for the two friendlies they have on the FIFA international dates. There's been no news on whether Saad will be called up or not.

In my mind, the Columbus match lineup looks like this.

This lineup is still good enough to win against the Crew. The return of Nagamura makes the midfield situation not as bad and the forwards should be competent enough to generate some offense. If Saad is called up, however, there's gonna be more problems up top.
