Kei Kamara's four-year career with Sporting Kansas City has ended after his signing with Middlesbrough FC

Denny Medley-US PRESSWIRE

After rumors came flying out of England this morning about an imminent deal between Kei Kamara and Middlesbrough FC, the Sporting Kansas City community waited with suspense for confirmation.

It took until there was less than an hour until the transfer window closed, but the two sides seemingly got a deal done in time. However, as of writing, the deal has not been confirmed by either club or by Kamara himself.  Sky Sports was the first major news source to confirm the deal, saying that Kamara and the English side had agreed to a two-year deal. Here's the full article.

Middlesbrough have sealed a deal for Sierra Leone international striker Kei Kamara, Sky Sports understands.

The 29-year-old forward was being tracked by a number of clubs across Europe, but he has now agreed a move back to England with Boro.

Kamara finished last season on-loan in the Premier League with Norwich City, but they opted not to take up their option.

Kamara returned to MLS and he has been in sparkling form with seven goals in ten starts for Sporting Kansas.

Now after being given permission by his club to travel to England, Boro have agreed a permanent deal with MLS and the player has put pen to paper on a two-year deal.

Sky Sports is a trustworthy source, so it seems all but official with Kamara. Sporting KC will have to make due with their current wingers for the rest of the season and the playoffs. We'll continue to update when the clubs confirm the deal.
