On Friday, MLS conducted a weighted lottery to determine the order of the Chivas USA Dispersal Draft that will be held on November 19th. Sporting KC drew the third spot in the draft.
Chivas USA Dispersal Draft order:
1. FC Dallas
4. DC United
7. Orlando City SC
10. Real Salt Lake
11. Houston Dynamo
12. Portland Timbers
13. Chicago Fire
14. Toronto FC
15. Columbus Crew SC
16. LA Galaxy
19. Seattle Sounders FC
20. Vancouver Whitecaps FC
While Chivas was not very good, there are some players that teams will be happy to take.
GK Dan Kennedy - Age: 32 (USA)
The doomed franchise often did not play great defense and Kennedy was the lone bright spot. If some of the rumors are true, Sporting KC could use him to bridge the gap to Kempin taking over.
FW Caleb Calvert - Age: 18 (USA)
Calvert became the youngest player in Chivas USA's history when he signed with the club as a 16-year-old. He was listed at 6'2 feet and 160 pounds when he signed. He hasn't played yet but he could have a lot of potential if a team can be patient.
MF Marky Delgado - Age 19 (USA)
Had work on his knees two seasons in a row but has lot of talent.
DF Andrew Jean-Baptiste - Age 22 (USA)
Possible defensive depth.
DF Jhon Kennedy Hurtado - Age 30 (Colombia)
Hurtado is a solid veteran but not sure Vermes would add him to the mix.
DF Bobby Burling - Age 30 (USA)
Another defensive veteran that could see some interest from teams.
MF Oswaldo Minda - Age: 31 (Ecuador)
One of Chivas' designated players but will be out of contract in December.
We will take a close look at available players before the draft as well as take part in a mock draft but who woild you take? What position?
