With the third pick in the Chivas Dispersal Draft, Sporting Kansas City passed and took nobody. In all only seven players were taken. It is unknown whether Peter Vermes had plans for all empty roster slots or just thought he could do better on the open market.
There are a lot of variables in the coming weeks for the league and Sporting KC. With the expansion draft, the Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations, the college draft and all the other moves that have been the works, Vermes did not see a need to take a player.
