CONCACAF announced that Kansas City will be one of the host cities for the 2015 Gold Cup and that the United States Men's National Team will play their final group stage match at Sporting Park.
Sporting Park will have two matches in the Gold Cup on July 13 with the United States playing one of their Group A opponents as well as two other Group A teams battling it out. Dallas and Boston are the other two host cities for Group A.
This will be the first time that Sporting Park has hosted the Gold Cup since 2011 when it saw Canada draw with Panama and the United States win 1-0 over Guadeloupe. Kansas City did not host a Gold Cup match in 2013 but they did host a World Cup qualifying match against Jamaica, which was the last time that the United States played in Kansas City.
The United States have had good fortunes when playing in KC.
#USMNT is 5-0 in KC all time, scoring 13 while allowing 3.

The opponents for the United States have yet to be announced as they look for a repeat of their 2013 win of the Gold Cup. If they win the tournament again, they will directly qualify for the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia. If they fail to win the tournament, they will play against the winner of the 2015 edition in a one-game playoff for the right to go to the Confederations Cup by virtue of their 2013 win.
For those who have season tickets for Sporting Kansas City, here is some relevant information regarding ticket sales.
Unlike last Gold Cup here, tickets won't be included in STH package, but there will be a pre-sale for STH
