The former DC United second round draft pick Victor Munoz has been signed by Sporting Kansas City, the team announced today.
Munoz is a midfielder and an eight-year veteran of the Real Madrid Academy. He also spent some time in the Celta de Vigo academy at the same time that recently signed Toni was there. He came to the United States in 2010 to pursue an education at Iona college before transferring to UCLA the next year. He recorded eight assists in his 2013 season at UCLA and was named second team all PAC-12.
Munoz was featured in four preseason matches for DC United but was released at the start of the season. He has been training with Sporting KC ever since.
Sporting KC now has 28 roster spots filled with two more open for more signings. As noted earlier, Igor Julião is in camp with Sporting KC is has been largely rumored to be the latest signing for Sporting KC.
