When Chance Myers went down in the 33rd minute of the match, he immediately clutched the back of his left ankle, his Achilles. Vermes later confirmed in the press conference that it was his Achilles and that he would have an MRI soon.
Sources later indicated that it looked like Myers injury was severe enough that he would miss the rest of the season. They cautioned that the MRI needed to be done to confirm but they were not looking optimistic. There should be official word on his condition in the next day or two.
As shorthanded as Sporting Kansas City is with defenders, the last thing they need is another season long injury.
Let's hope for Myers and Sporting KC's sake that the sources were wrong on this one.
