Rumors of Uri Rosell on the move continues to mount, another report has the Spaniard going from Sporting Kansas City to Sporting Club de Portugal (known as Sporting Lisbon). The latest report has Rosell headed to Portugal for 1 million Euros(approximately $1.36 million) of which Sporting KC would receive 2/3's of the transfer fee.
Uri has not appeared in a match since May 14th and there has been rampant speculation that he has been held out of play while negotiations were ongoing. Sporting KC manager Peter Vermes has stated that Rosell was injured and that it was thigh muscle issue that caused pain when he planted and turned.
Losing Rosell would hurt Sporting KC (unless Vermes has another move up his sleeve). Uri has quickly become one of the best midfielders in MLS. His ability to control a match is well beyond his age and he already holds the MLS record for passes attempted and completed in SKC's win over Montreal last month. In that match Rosell had a better than 96% passing accuracy and made 6 passes in a 21 pass sequence that resulted in a goal.
Rosell came to Sporting KC in August of 2012 from the Barcelona B squad to further his education and was enrolled in UMKC. There should be another year on his contract.
Should SKC deal Rosell or attempt to keep him?
Would Rosell be a good DP candidate?
