It appears that soccer fans in Kansas City will have another high level match to enjoy. Reliable sources have confirmed that Sporting Park will play host to CONCACAF Women's World Cup qualifying in October. It is unknown which game will be there but sources suspect that the U.S. will be one of those teams.

The U.S. Women played in Sporting Park in September of 2011 when they drew Canada 1-1 in front of over 16,000 fans in a post World Cup friendly. That was the first match together for the U.S. after making it to the championship game of the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Five current FC Kansas City players were in that match. Lauren Holiday (Cheney), Amy Rodriguez and Amy LePeilbet all started and Nicole Barnhart and FC Kansas City captain Becky Sauerbrunn came on as subs in the second half.
