Fresh off of winning the US Open Cup, Sporting Kansas City forward Krisztian Nemeth was named to the roster of Hungary for the final round of UEFA Euro 2016 qualifiers. Nemeth and his team mates will host the Faroe Islands on Oct. 8th and travel to Greece on Oct. 11th.
Sporting Kansas City plays Portland on Oct 3rd and San Jose on Oct 16th so Nemeth should leave after Portland and be back by San Jose.
Nemeth's Hungary (3-1-3, 12 points) is in third place of Group F. The Magical Magyars as Hungary used to be known drew Romania and Northern Ireland in the last round. The tie in Belfast was especially disappointing for Hungary, Northern Ireland was down a goal and playing with 10 men but scored three minutes into added time.
It will be hard for Hungary to move into the top two qualifying spots occupied by Northern Ireland (17 points) and Romania (16 points). They will need to stay in third place so they have a chance to advance by being the highest third place team or though playoffs with other third place teams.
