Two Sporting KC men are headed to the Rose Bowl next Saturday for the biggest United States vs. Mexico matchup since the 2013 Gold Cup final.
Graham Zusi and Matt Besler have been named to the United States' roster for their one-game playoff against Mexico on Oct. 10. The winner will represent CONCACAF in the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia.
Zusi last played for the United States during the Gold Cup and played in the third place match against Panama as a starter. Besler was called up for the United States' friendly with Peru in early September and entered as a substitute in the 62nd minute.
With MLS actually following the MLS international break this time around, Besler and Zusi will not miss any Sporting Kansas City matches. They are the third and fourth players from Sporting Kansas City to be called up recently as Marcel de Jong and Krisztain Nemeth were called up for Canada and Hungary respectively.
