Sporting KC Academy hosting central region Generation adidas Cup

This weekend, with Sporting Kansas City off and FC Kansas City home polishing their second straight NWSL trophy, there is still some good soccer to watch in person. Head down to Swope Soccer Village and watch the Sporting KC Academy teams take on their counterparts in the central region.

Sporting Kansas City is hosting the fall event of the 2016-16 MLS Generation Adidas Cup for the Central region. This event is on October 9-12. It is a U17 event with the Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew, FC Dallas and Houston Dynamo academy teams in attendance. Sporting KC's U16 team is in the tournament and the SKC U18's are playing to make an even number of teams.

The MLS GA Cup Central Region Spring event will be hosted by the Houston Dynamo on February 12-15, 2016 and the MLS GA Cup Finals will be hosted by FC Dallas on March 18-26, 2016.

The Sporting Kansas City U16's are undefeated in Academy league play so far this year and the U18's only have one loss. Both teams have some players that could very well end up with the first team some day.
