In what would be a stunning move, there are rumors that Houston Dynamo's Brad Davis may be on his way of Houston and into the arms of rival Sporting Kansas City.
This article by the Houston Chronicle says that the MLS officials say that Davis is likely to be traded and likely to be traded to Sporting KC, which would be a stunning move. For those that cannot get behind the paywall, here is the relevant snippet of the article (h/t Reddit user skcku).
Multiple Major League Soccer officials have told the Chronicle that U.S. national team midfielder Brad Davis, the Dynamo captain, will be traded this winter, likely to Sporting Kansas City.
Davis, 33, scored four goals and had nine assists in 2015. His proficiency on set pieces has made him one of the more dangerous players in the league and would instantly provide an interesting forward decision for Peter Vermes. The return on a possible trade would be interesting as well, given that any player given up would likely be a substantial part of the lineup.
However this deal is far from imminent and should be treated as a rumor until proven otherwise.
Canetti acknowledged hearing those rumors as well, but he denies a deal is in place.
"That's putting the cart before the horse," Canetti said.
Sporting Kansas City beat writer Sam McDowell says that there's no deal in place as of now.
This is far, far from imminent. Could it happen? Sure. But there's no deal in place right now. https://t.co/4IKPEwIpyx

A Sporting KC spokesperson refused to comment on the rumor.
"Brad is currently under contract with the Houston Dynamo and, per club policy, we do not comment on players under contract with another club," they said.
