Sporting Kansas City took a pass today on their pick in the MLS Waiver draft. The draft is becoming a non-factor as only the Colorado Rapids utilized their pick in selecting Micheal Azira. Last year, there were only three picks.
KC had the 11th overall pick, but saw nobody available to help fill in the roster. They did however, bring back Seth Sinovic, Jon Kempin, and even Lawrence Olum today bringing the total number of players on the roster to 23. MLS announced new Targeted Allocation Money of $800k each of the next two seasons for teams to utilize. So Peter Vermes and company must have a little more in mind than picking up players nobody else wanted.
