Sporting Kansas City News: Servando Carrasco suspended for one match

Major League soccer has suspended Sporting Kansas City midfielder Servando Carrasco and fined him an undisclosed amount for violent conduct.

Sporting Kansas City will be without midfielder Servando Carrasco for their Sunday match with the Chicago Fire, the Major League Soccer disciplinary committee announced Wednesday.

Carrasco was suspended for this play below, in which he escaped a red card.

Carrasco had become a starter for Sporting KC as a defensive midfielder in their recent matches, which allowed Benny Feilhaber to play more forward. There is still no indiciation whether Feilhaber will move back to a defensive midfield role like at the beginning of the season, or if Soni Mustivar will get the chance to start.

Sporting KC's next match will be at home against Chicago Sunday at 4:00 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.
