FIFA Officials have actually been arrested but Sepp Blatter is still due to be re-elected on Friday. Plus Sporting continue to climb the ladder as Amadou Dia and two others were named to Team of the Week.

BIG news last night! Rather unbelievably... FIFA Officials Arrested on Corruption Charges!

"The arrests were carried out peacefully. One FIFA official, Eduardo Li of Costa Rica, was led by the authorities from his room to a side-door exit of the hotel. He was allowed to bring his luggage, which was adorned with FIFA logos.

The charges, backed an F.B.I. investigation, allege widespread corruption in FIFA over the past two decades, involving bids for World Cups as well as marketing and broadcast deals."

Sepp Blatter is not among the 14 who have been charged and he is basically assured, because of this corrupt culture, to be re-elected on Friday.

"The FIFA spokesman, Walter De Gregorio, insisted at the news conference that Mr. Blatter was not involved in any alleged wrongdoing and that the election would not be disrupted."

It might not all be well and good for Sepp, as it is possible any of the charged officials could snitch on him. RIGHT HERE has more information on the individuals who have been charged. Really hard to tell how big of an impact any of this will have right now, but at 9:30 this morning US Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch and F.B.I. Director James Comey will speak at a press conference and we should get a better idea of what is going on.

Twitter... your thoughts?

The USMNT will face Germany for a friendly on June 10th and the German squad has been named for the friendly. Some of the top stars are being rested like Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller and Toni Kroos, but World Cup winners Jerome Boateng, Bastian Schweinsteiger, and Mario Gotze are on the roster.

Southampton has parted ways with Cody Cropper. The 22 year old American keeper has featured at several different levels of the USMNT and earned callups to the senior team for recent friendlies.

NYCFC sits in last place of the Eastern Conference with 7 points from 12 games. Montreal have played 5 less games and have 8 points. Hell, KC has played 6 games against the East resulting in 14 points! The arrival of Frank Lampard cannot come soon enough for NY. It also appears they are looking for help on defense as well, because CB Oguchi Onyewu is training with them this week. Come on NYC... Gooch? SMH

KC will play a US Open Cup match on June 16th at Sporting Park against the winner of Minnesota United FC and St. Louis FC. That match is being played tonight at 7pm and will be live streamed by St. Louis FC right here.

The Rome Derby was on Monday between Roma and Lazio. Two Roma fans were stabbed prior to the match. Roma won 2-1 and qualified for the Champion's League.

Speaking of Lazio.... Sporting Kansas City move for Lazio midfielder. These are not the first rumors of the club targeting the 32 year old Cristian Ledesma. If it is going to happen, it will of course have to wait until the transfer window opens on July 8th. It brings up the question of where he would play. KC still needs a winger, or could he bump Soni Mustivar and cause a change from the 4-3-3?

Sporting KC picked up 4 huge points in 4 days last week with a depleted lineup against 2 good teams.

Rookie Amadou Dia started both games and was recognized for his efforts by being named to the Team of the Week, along with Krisztian Nemeth and Benny Feilhaber. Kevin Ellis was named to the bench, another player who has stepped up big for KC in recent weeks.

Dom's goal against NE is up for GOTW. I did and will always vote for the KC player... but Giovinco's howler was fantastic. The goal from Colorado, yes Colorado, is also jogo bonito at it's finest.

Everyone has been taking notice of the good form as Sporting climbed up to 3rd in MLSSoccer.com's Power Rankings. The 4-6-2 record is good for 18 points, just 3 shy of the top of the Western Conference table.

At the top of that table, is Dallas FC, who comes to Sporting Park on Friday night! SKC will still be dealing with injuries, but PV has developed a deep squad that makes you feel like they can still take anybody. Especially at home in front of the Cauldron...

I'll leave you with Messi nutmegs. Those reactions at the end are too funny. Pep couldn't even look.
