Sporting Kansas City has waived forward James Ansu Rogers, the club announced Monday afternoon. He never made any appearances on the pitch, but was included in the game day roster four times.
Ansu Rogers was the third round pick by Sporting Kansas City and signed by the club on February 25. He appeared in six preseason games, scoring one goal and an assist.
Speculation
Ansu Rogers was deep depth at the forward position and it's no secret that Sporting KC has been searching for more depth on the left wing.
Keep your fingers crossed....just hit send on an attacking offer #sportingkc

In a speculative sense, this move could be seen as making room for a new player when the transfer window opens on July 8. This move gives Sporting KC 25 players on their active roster, which leaves three open slots under the new rules that were negotiated in the Collective Bargaining Agreement, down from 30 roster spots previously.
