The Major League Soccer disciplinary committee announced Wednesday that Sporting Kansas City midfielder Roger Espinoza will be suspended for Sporting KC's next match, Saturday at Toronto FC.
Espinoza received the suspension after his cleat struck Houston Dynamo keeper Tyler Deric in the shin in the 67th minute in Sporting KC's 1-1 draw with the Houston Dynamo. The play in question is below, about two and a half minutes in.
As a result, Sporting KC will be without two starters for their Toronto FC match as forward Dom Dwyer is suspended for yellow card accumulation. Paulo Nagamura is the likely man to replace Espinoza in the starting lineup.
