Goal Canada and Soccer by Ives are reporting that former Ottawa Fury FC coach Marc Dos Santos will join Sporting Kansas City as an assistant coach.

Ottawa Fury FC announced Dos Santos' departure this morning with the notion that he was headed to an unnamed MLS team. Canadian media are reporting that the team will be Sporting Kansas City.

Sporting Kansas City responded to the report with no indication as to whether it was true or not.

"At this time, Sporting KC is fully focused on the team's push for a fifth straight postseason berth and the 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup final in two weeks" the team said. "Any changes to the technical staff will be announced at a later date."

In three seasons with Ottawa Fury FC, he put them in good position to win the league as they finished first in the fall standings and were third in the standings overall by the time he left. He's also been an assistant with the Montreal Impact. He also has time as a technical director with Desportivo Brasil.

The question is where would he fit in Sporting KC's staff? A former head coach would be seemingly out of place with both Peter Vermes and assistant coach Kerry Zavagnin holding a high role. One possibility is that Sporting Kansas City could announce a USL team with Dos Santos as head coach. The possibility that Sporting KC will announce a USL has been rumored in the past month and he could be a fit there as an assistant under Vermes.

Nothing from this is confirmed by either party, the only indication we have is from other media.
