US Open Cup final to potentially be broadcast on ESPN2

Indicators are pointing to the US Open Cup final to be given a primetime broadcast on ESPN2.

As Sporting KC goes for their first US Open Cup trophy since 2012, they'll possibly get a prime time television slot as ESPN2 will broadcast the US Open Cup final next Wednesday in Philadelphia.

Thecup.us noted that the ESPN schedule on the website has the game listed in it's grid for next Wednesday. The talk is that the deal is still being finalized and is not certain as of yet.

Should the final air on ESPN2, it will be the first time since 1999 that the network hosted the final and would give the final its biggest platform in years. It has bounced between GolTV and Fox Soccer Channel the past decade and a half.
