2015 Sporting KC offseason checklist: On-field transactions achieved

Monday afternoon Sporting Kansas City re-signed midfielders Soni Mustivar and Paulo Nagamura, which brought them up to a full roster. Now, with the MLS SuperDraft coming up in a couple of days and more signings possible, there's a chance that this is not the final roster as Sporting KC inches closer to the 2016 preseason.

These signings do, however, take care of all the additions Sporting KC needed to make and leave only a couple of decisions to make.

1) Re-sign Tim Melia Achieved 11/25. Sporting KC pick up Tim Melia's 2016 option.

2) Sign a Centerback Achieved 12/09. Sporting KC sign Lawrence Olum.

3) Add forward depth Achieved 12/13. Sporting KC sign Justin Mapp

4) Restructure Graham Zusi's contract...

5) ...and give that money to Benny Feilhaber and Krisztian Nemeth

6) Make a defensive midfield decision Achieved 1/11. Sporting KC re-sign Soni Mustivar

7) Release Marcel de Jong, Mikey Lopez and Jacob Peterson

8) Sign a backup keeper Achieved 12/11. Sporting KC select Alec Kann in first stage of the re-entry draft.

9) Make a decision at left back

10) Depth at attacking midfielder Achieved 1/07. Sporting KC acquire Brad Davis from Houston Dynamo

With those signings, Sporting KC now have a starting lineup and a pretty decent depth stack behind them. The moves to come will revolve on if Sporting KC decide to release any players to make room for further signings. The Graham Zusi contract is also pertinent because Benny Feilhaber's and Krisztian Nemeth's contracts are up after 2016 and they could try and take care of that situation now, or make room for a different designated player. Sporting KC currently have one designated player slot open.
