Deals with the Houston Dash and Western New York have left FC Kansas City with a new forward in Sydney Leroux and another new forward in Tiffany McCarty.
They first acquired McCarty and forward Jessica McDonald from the Houston Dash in exchange for the Blues' 2016 first round draft pick (No. 8 overall) and an international spot. The Blues then turned around and sent McDonald, along with a second round draft pick in 2017 and an international spot to Western New York in exchange for Leroux.
The 2017 second round draft pick was acquired from the Orlando Pride in exchange for Sarah Hagen and their 2016 second round draft pick.
Leroux is a U.S. international who has bounced around the league in its first three seasons, playing for the Boston Breakers in 2013, Seattle Reign FC in 2014, and Western New York in 2015. She only scored one goal in three games for the Breakers as most of her summer was taken up by the World Cup and an ankle surgery following the World Cup.
She is also married to Sporting Kansas City forward Dom Dwyer, so this move brings them together in the same city.
Tiffany McCarty scored four goals in 29 appearances for the Dash in 2014 and 2015. She started off with the Washington Spirit.
