While great news for Sydney and Dom, it leaves FC Kansas City short again. The Blues had just traded for Leroux right before the NWSL draft. FC Kansas City had sent a 2016 first round draft pick and an international slot to Houston for Tiffany McCarty and Jessica McDonald and then sent McDonald, a 2017 second round draft pick and another international slot to Western New York for Leroux.

Hopefully both FC Kansas City and Sporting Kansas City get automatic discovery claim and Home Grown Player rights to the talented pairs children.
