Former Kansas City Wizard Preki might be coming back to Missouri, according to a report. This time, however, it's on the other side of the state.
BREAKING: I can confirm that Preki will rejoin the coaching ranks in American soccer as St. Louis FC's next coach
— Evan Ream (@EvanReam) October 11, 2016
Preki was most recently the head coach of Sacramento Republic FC in the USL before leaving the team. He was rumored to be taking a job in England, but that did not materialize. He has been the head coach of the now-defunct Chivas USA and Toronto FC with his MLS coaching career.
St. Louis FC is of particular interest to the Kansas City area. They have met Sporting Kansas City before in the US Open Cup and have become a regular league rival of Sporting KC's USL team, Swope Park Rangers.
Preki was part of the inaugural class of the Sporting Legends in recognition for his seven seasons spent with the Wizards. He was part of their first team and scored a total of 71 goals for them.
