According to several reports, former FC Kansas City and U.S. Women’s National Team star Lauren Holiday underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor. Holiday gave birth to her and husband Jrue Holiday’s baby daughter last month. They had decided to wait for their daughter to be born before having the tumor removed.
The tumor was reportedly a benign meninjioma, located on the outer covering of the brain but near the orbital cavity.
Holiday played with FC Kansas City for three years, winning two NWSL Championships and numerous personal awards. She also a big part of the U.S. Women’s National team that won the World Cup in 2015 as well. She retired in order to start a family and spend time with her husband.
Holiday meant so much to FC Kansas City’s first years, they retired her number and the 12 flag (seen above) flies over their games.
Many of Lauren’s team mates and fans flooded social media with well wishes and prayers for the couple.

Holiday is often referred to by some variation of Cheney, her maiden name.
Both the New Orleans Pelicans (Jrue’s team) and FC Kansas City (Lauren’s former team) have been quiet about the pair. Presumably that is at the request of the couple who have tended to keep their private life quiet.
From the staff of The Blue Testament, we wish Lauren a speedy recovery so she and Jrue can truly enjoy their time as parents.
