The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced Tuesday their 2015/16 All-League First, Second, and Third teams ahead of the Conference Championship series. Comets captain Vahid Assadpour, goalkeeper Boris Pardo, defender John Sosa and forward Leo Gibson all received honors.
Vahid Assadpour was named to the All-League First Team for the second consecutive year. Assadpour helped lead the Comets to a 17-3 overall record in the regular season with a total of 50 points on 23 goals and 27 assists.
Forward Leo Gibson was named to the Second Team. Gibson ended the season with 21 goals and 23 assists for a total of 44 points after a record breaking season last year.
Defender John Sosa earned Third Team honor with 28 points on nine goals and 19 assists. Comets keeper is also on the third team with a league leading 16 wins and a 4.57 GAA.
The winners for Most Valuable Player, Goalkeeper of the Year, Defender of the Year, Coach of the Year, and Rookie of the Year will be announced on March 17. Coach Vlatko Andonovski is a finalist for Coach of the Year while Pardo is a finalist for Goalkeeper of the year.
