The struggling Swope Park Rangers head to California to face Sacramento Republic FC on Saturday night. Kickoff is set for 9:30pm CT from Bonney Field and will of course be live streamed on SportingKC.com.
Like their parent club, the Rangers started off the season strong but have dropped in the standings since. They've got just one win in the last six games and stand in 11th place in the Western Conference with a 3-4-1 record. Last week they suffered a 4-1 clobbering in Texas at the hands of Rio Grande Valley FC. SPR conceded early and after Daniel Salloi pulled one back, they opened themselves up as they pushed for an equalizer. RGV took advantage and tacked on a couple more goals. The four goals were the most Marc Dos Santos' squad has given up this season.
Saramento Republic has one more win than Swope with a 4-3-1 record sitting in 6th place in the West. They have not played a USL match since a May 14th win over Seattle Sounders FC 2. However, Sacramento did play a couple of matches against the Liverpool U-21s, winning one and drawing the other.
SPR will again be without USL all time leading scorer, Dane Kelly. Expect Daniel Salloi to get another start at the top of the 4-3-3.
The road has not been kind to the Rangers as they have only managed a 1-3-1 in opposing stadiums. And they won't get another chance at SRFC as this is the only meeting between the two sides this season.
