Marc Dos Santos and his Rangers welcome Rio Grande Valley FC to their jurisdiction in Swope Park for a midweek clash on Wednesday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm and will of course be live streamed on SportingKC.com.

SPR continued a slump after falling to Portland Timbers FC 2 on Saturday night by a final score of 2-1. After a fantastic set piece from PTFC2 put the Rangers down by two goals, Mark Anthony Gonzalez got his first professional goal to pull one back. It made the match interesting but Swope Park just couldn't find the equalizer. They now have just one win in the last eight matches with a 3-5-2 record on the season.

It was only three matches ago on May 21st when Rio Grande Valley FC trounced the Rangers 4-1 in Texas. Now they come to KC to play in front of The Zoo in top form. After a 2-2 draw against LA Galaxy II last week, they are now undefeated in eight matches. RGVFC are #8 in the Power Rankings and have a 5-2-4 record in their inaugural season. The player to keep an eye on for the visitors is Robert Casner, who is tied for the most assists in the USL this season at four.

While there is a tremendous amount of talent on the roster for SPR, it is difficult adapting to the league and learning how to grind out results. Kevin Oliveira in the midfield was highly touted but stared off slow. The last few games he is really starting to be more confident and is dangerous whenever he gets the ball. The rest of the USL newcomers on the Rangers will continue to adapt and the quality of Dos Santos' boys will begin to show very soon.

These two Western Conference foes will meet once more this season for a third time on Saturday, September 3rd at Swope Park.
