After a disappointing loss to the Washington Spirit last weekend, FC Kansas City heads to the opposite coast to try their talents against the Portland Thorns. The Thorns have not lost a game this season yet, and will surely be a challenge to an FC Kansas City side still struggling to find their rhythm.

FC Kansas City is still short-sided as captain Becky Sauerbrunn, Heather O'Reilly, and Desiree Scott are all with their respective national teams. However, this also leaves Portland without Meghan Klingenberg, Emily Sonnett, and midfielders Tobin Heath, Lindsey Horan, and Allie Long.

For Kansas City, look to see Yael Averbuch take over anchoring the back line. She wiill likely be joined by Alex Arlitt, who may return to the back line after being a late scratch in the last game. Lo'eau LaBonta or Brianne Reed could also get their second start of the season.

This game will be tough for the Blues, but with the numerous absences for the Thorns, it's possible that Kansas City could squeak out a huge win. Tune in on Saturday at 9:30 CT for what should certainly be an exciting match.
