The Rangers are coming off two straight wins as they head west to take on Arizona United SC on Saturday night. Kickoff is at 9:30pm from the Peoria Sports Complex and, as always, will be live streamed on the team's website.
Marc Dos Santos' squad will enter the match with confidence after defeating rival St. Louis FC last week 1-0. It was a gritty match that was delayed nearly two hours. Tyler Pasher got SPR on the board a minute into the match and they were able to outlast the rain and the bad guys. Jon Kempin recorded his second straight shutout and made several big saves to preserve all three points. The win moved their record to 6-7-2 and they are now just a point off the playoff pace.
Arizona United is winless in the last three matches. They sit three points behind SPR with a 4-6-5 record. Last week they fell to Tulsa Roughnecks FC by a final of 3-2. Long Tan recorded a brace but it wasn't enough for the visitors. But they are still winners because they have a player named Long Tan.
After returning from Arizona, the Rangers will have to recover quickly as the Oklahoma City Energy FC come to town on Tuesday, July 12.
SPR started the season strong, but went through a rough spell. They've now put together their first two game winning streak and appear to be hitting stride. Look for the Rangers of Swope Park to start climbing the ranks of the Western Conference.
